IPL known as intense pulsed light technology hair removal uses broad spectrum light which targets pigment in the hair and in turn kills the hair growth cells. … Waxing removes the entire hair and follicle so no pigment can be found by an IPL hair removal handset; which in turn renders the treatment useless.
In short: no waxing, plucking or epilating allowed
IPL is not a laser, unlike laser treatments which emit a specific wavelength, IPL works by emitting scattered wavelengths of light which allows the treatment to target different layers of the skin and effectively remove more hair more quickly.
IPL can remove hair permentley but it will take a few treatments depending on the thickness and colour of your hair.
Stress and hormones are other factors that can make us sensitive more so on the odd occasion when popping in for some treatment, we do have rules that make your hair removal experience pleasant; which are as follows…
- Panadol 20min before a treatment can reduce sensitivity during the treatment.
- Daily body brushing, (keeps dead skin cell build up to a minimum).
- Moisturising keeps the hair follicle and the skin around it moist (reducing ingrown hairs).
- Avoid Sunbaking for 48hrs after waxing (we recommend Spray tanning 24hrs after waxing).
- Spray Tan 24 hour after waxing.
